TEAM HISTORY

About the same time we lost a few girls on the team and were left with just one, so Joyce decided to ask Audrey to skate out of the goal. She agreed but we needed one more female to have a team. She asked Jen Morley (Patrick’s girlfriend) who had never skated before to play for the team. After saying “No” several times she finally gave in. Of course that left an opening in the “pipes”. As luck would have it, Daryl Fike was asking if we had an opening. We happily welcomed Daryl into goal. Around the same time Joyce met Nick Lazarou at a Saturday morning “pick up”. He and newcomer Avo Sarkasian were exactly what the team needed.

Team stats were at an all time high but still couldn’t touch the league champs. A new team name was on the horizon and was fodder for much debate. Something was needed to exemplify our passion for beer and our history of couples and family players. “On Tap” received the highest votes, and “On Tap” we became. With that, in large due to Greg and Nick’s talents we began sporting “On Tap” gear. Sweatshirts, t-shirt, and car stickers were some of the first. Our next season brought Ally Ellner on as the 4th girl. That season was the “Longest game in TVRHL history” against the “Yo Mama”. We lost in the shoot out thanks to Azure Long’s goal against her boyfriend Daryl.

When Barrett left for college out of state, we needed another guy. Joyce asked Audrey to goal for us again and Daryl skate out. However in the spirit of couples playing together… and a female opening, we asked Azure to play for On Tap. She agreed and the team was complete. On Tap makes lines every week and is still chasing the elusive ”cup” but the most important question is still “Who has the cooler this week?”
